This workshop brings together educators, policymakers, social workers, and youth advocates to examine the rising trends of gender-based violence (GBV) affecting adolescents within secondary schools in Maryland, Lagos. Through presentations of empirical research findings, survivor testimonies, and expert panel discussions, participants explore the multifaceted challenges encountered by young survivors of sexual assault.
The workshop aims to develop actionable recommendations for schools, communities, and government agencies to strengthen protection mechanisms, provide psychosocial support, and integrate gender-sensitive education to prevent GBV and support victim recovery.
